Feux Follets<\/em><\/a> (Wills o’ the Wisp<\/em>) is the fifth \u00e9tude of the set of twelve Transcendental \u00c9tudes<\/em> by Franz Liszt<\/a>. As with the other works in the \u00c9tudes but one, Feux Follets<\/em> went through three versions, the first being \u00c9tude en douze exercices<\/em> from 1826, the second being Douze \u00e9tudes d’execution transcendante<\/em> from 1837, and third, an 1851 revision of the 1837 set. It is this last version, from 1851, that is most often performed. Its rapid double-note passages in the right hand accompanied by wide broken intervals in the left are notoriously difficult to play. – Khatia Buniatishvili<\/a><\/p>\n
