Gluck – Dance of the Blessed Spirits – Neveu, Violin

Ginette Neveu (11 August 1919 – 28 October 1949) was a French classical violinist who was killed in a plane crash at the age of 30. She achieved worldwide celebrity status at age 16 when she won the Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition over 180 contestants, including David Oistrakh. – Dance of the Blessed Spirits is a melody from Orpheus and Eurydice, an opera composed by Christoph Willibald Gluck, based on the myth of Orpheus and set to a libretto by Ranieri de’ Calzabigi.
