Gretchen am Spinnrade (Gretchen at the Spinning Wheel), Op. 2, D 118, is a Lied composed by Franz Schubert using the text from Part One, scene 18 of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s Faust. Gretchen am Spinnrade was originally composed for the soprano voice.

The Trout Quintet (Forellenquintett) is the popular name for the Piano Quintet in A major, D. 667, by Franz Schubert. The piano quintet was composed in 1819, when he was 22 years old; it was not published, however, until 1829, a year after his death.

Franz Schubert composed his Lied Erlkönig for solo voice and piano at the age of 17 or 18 in 1815, setting text from Goethe’s poem. Schubert revised the song three times before publishing his fourth version in 1821 as his Opus 1.
